How to successfully complete a tempo run....

Go to the gym and do it on a treadmill.

Done and done.

It was one of those morning where I was a tad melancholy for no particular reason. Which is the worst kind of melancholy. I was tired. And lazy. And most certainly did not feel like tackling my scheduled run. But I knew I had to.

I dragged my body out the door to the gym. I mentally cannot do a tempo on the road. And as of right now, the boulevard makes me want to puke. So off to the climate controlled gym I went. Almost stopped one tenth into my warm up. But eventually loosened up. And remembered how easy it is to run on a treadmill. And with that my tempo was done AND I watched a Sex and the City episode. All in all, a good run. A cheat run? Perhaps. But I needed it.

I am scheduled for another 13 this weekend, but I think I am going to call 8-10 good enough.
