Because I Can

If a marathon was 6 miles total--I would run marathons all the time. Like at least twice a month. Maybe weekly.

The first 6-7 miles of my long run today were simply glorious. Perfect July weather. My new play list accompanying me. Running at a very comfortable long run pace. I couldn't help but smile as I ran. Because I do love running. (Some of the time. Like when it is comfortable.). It felt so good that I decided that I would indeed run the scheduled 13 (I was going to just do 12 initially). And heck, I figured I would probably do 14. And you know what? I should totally do the half marathon next weekend with one of my friends....I am scheduled for a 13 mile long run anyhow, so why not. Because THIS IS GREAT.

But then a little after hitting 7, I started to feel a little drained. I fueled at 8, and even stopped at a water fountain to relieve the dryness in my mouth. Like the stellar planner that I am, I was running with no water. And while the July weather is perfectly comfortable. I think I needed some water along the way.

My grandiose plans of 14 miles quickly turned to 13. And then 12 (technically it ended up being 11.97--but who's counting?). But hey, long run is done. Next time--I need to plan for some water I think.
