June

Not sure where exactly I left off...between my recovery week, my foot ailment and allowing my mind to lose focus while dealing with some matters--I had two weeks of minimal running. And the long run last week reinforced the fact that I had 2 weeks of minimal running. It was brutal. Horrid. Wretched. Disgusting. Do you get the point? Anyhow I unearthed this from 2 months ago:

I had a rough, rough, rough 2 weeks at the beginning of April. Every run sucked. While a bad run can be disconcerting, a streak of bad runs can really mess with you. But my legs are back. And my runs have felt decent.

The two weeks I am referring to also coincided with a recovery week. Whatever. Either way I did 2 early morning easy runs which were nice--in the sense that they then are out of the way and I felt so energized throughout the day. The morning run on Thursday was rough though because it was already quite humid at 5:15am.  My Wednesday speed workout went very well--I felt good and was under all of my targets (still not sure if that is a good or bad thing)--it was 5 miles with warm up/cool down and 4x800s at 3:50s.

Tomorrow I will a long run another go--I am certain I will NOT be running the 9 mile loop around here that has killed me on more than one occasion (yes--that is where I ran last weekend).

Father's Day 5k next weekend--hope I feel a little more rested and a little more ready.
